ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRESTIGIOUS AWARD GIVEN TO ANASTASIOS (TASSOS) BOUNTIS EASA MEMBER OF CLASS IV (NATURAL SCIENCES)
On August 7, 2024, during the 2024 International Conference on Nonlinear Science and Complexity at Yibin, China, Professor Anastasios (Tassos) Bountis of Class IV, EASA, received the prestigious Zaslavsky Award for outstanding scholars in Nonlinear Physical Science, presented annually by the International Nonlinear Science and Complexity (NSC) Conference Series.
In the award letter, the Award Committee mentioned that Professor Bountis’ “exceptional contributions to the field of Nonlinear Physical Science, and innovative research and dedication to advancing the understanding of nonlinear phenomena have set a remarkable standard for scholars worldwide.” Professor Bountis was present at the Conference and gave a 45’ lecture entitled “Long Range Interactions Enhance Stability in 1-D Hamiltonian Lattices”.
Professor Bountis was also invited to a “Workshop on the Development of Aerospace Industry and 3rd Aerodynamics Seminar”, August 11, 2024, organized by the Wuhan Institute of Industrial Innovation and Development, at Wuhan, China. At that meeting he lectured on “Energy Transport in 1-D Hamiltonian Lattices with Non-analytic Potentials: From Physics to Engineering”.
At the presentation of the Zaslavsky award, it was mentioned that besides his research, Professor Bountis has devoted a great part of his scientific time to the more than 30 International Summer Schools/Conferences he has organized in Greece, 1987 – 2024. These events helped educate young researchers from Greece and other European countries on Nonlinear Science and Complexity. For the most recent one, see https://websites.auth.gr/complexity2024/
We Congratulate!
