Prof. Dr. Emmanuelle Charpentier, EASA Member, Class IV, and 2020 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, will receive the 2024 Crutzen Medal.

The award recognizes Prof. Dr. Charpentier for her contributions to human responsibility for climate and the environment and practical applications.

The Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Prof. Paul Josef Crutzen (1933 - 2021), was Director at the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemistry advocated effective climate policy throughout his life, hence this medal bears his name.

The founder of the Paul Crutzen Medal of the European Academy of Sciences is the Upper Austrian chemist and environmental pioneer Ing. Dr.h.c. Ulrich Kubinger, founder and owner of the VTA Group.
