Professor Maosen Cao, ClassVI, Receiving the 2026 Structural Health Monitoring Person of the Year Award
The European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA) warmly congratulates Professor Maosen Cao, Member of Class VI – Technical and Environmental Sciences, on receiving the prestigious 2026 Structural Health Monitoring Person of The Year Award.
This internationally renowned award was co-founded in 2003 by the flagship journal Structural Health Monitoring-An International Journal and landmark conferences in the field including the European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (EWSHM) and the International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring and Integrity Management (ICSHMIM).
Widely regarded as one of the highest academic distinctions in structural health monitoring, it has since its inception conferred annual recognition on no more than 1–2 outstanding scholars globally, celebrating their transformative contributions to the discipline via scientific innovation, technological advancement, talent cultivation, academic leadership, and societal impact.
Selected from top international nominees, Professor Cao accepted the honor at the 2026 awards ceremony held during the 12th European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring. The event chair highlighted his trailblazing theoretical contributions, technical innovations, commitment to mentoring early-career researchers, and far-reaching service to the global SHM community.
A Marie Curie Fellow and first-prize recipient of the EU-China Dragon-STAR Innovation Award, he is Editor-in-Chief of Structural Durability & Health Monitoring. He currently holds key roles as Academic Vice President of Chuzhou University, Senior Professor at Hohai University (China), and Vice President of the China Equipment and Structural Health Monitoring & Early Warning Society, earning global recognition for his high-impact research and academic leadership.
