MEETING and SYMPOSIUM of the Slovenian Section of EASA
In Ljubljana, on October 29, 2025, a meeting of the Slovenian Section of EASA was held in conjunction with the symposium titled “Slovenia in the Currents of the Contemporary West – A Civilizational, Cultural, and Theological Analysis.”
The symposium featured contributions from Prof. Dr. Jože Krašovec (Class VII), Prof. Dr. Milček Komelj (Class III), and Prof. Dr. Boštjan Marko Turk, Dean of Class I, each offering a unique perspective on the civilizational, cultural, and theological aspects shaping Slovenia’s modern identity.
"Slovenia in the Currents of the Contemporary West – A Civilizational, Cultural, and Theological Analysis" examined thus the position of Slovenia within the broader transformations of Western civilization. The discussion highlighted the imperative of preserving cultural and existential identity within the context of an increasingly dynamic Western environment, emphasizing the role of intellectual and ethical discourse in safeguarding the distinctiveness of Slovenian thought. Particular attention was given to the heightened vulnerability of small nations, which experience such societal transformations more acutely. The concluding observation underscored that this constitutes a significant challenge for the future, requiring a response grounded in full responsibility and deliberation.
ELECTION of Prof Dr. Ludvik TOPLAK as national Delegate for Slovenia:
Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak who has already served one term as the national delegate for Slovenia within EASA, was unanimously proposed to the Praesidium and Senate for a new mandate.
