Congratulations of Prof.Dr.Ioannis Liritzis, Dean of Class IV:

"It is a great honor for our Academy to have Prof Thanasis Fokas as its member at my Class IV. This distinction, from Cultech follows up several honors for his work on an international scale. In particular and as far as I am aware, I think, the comment "and for his work explaining and enlivening science and mathematics for the public." is a direct reference to his book which is uploaded in the EASA LIBRARY. The statement "to create the most complete description of currents in the brain" is now fully justified: there exist direct comparisons between his algorithm and the widely used commercial algorithm , LORETA (the later reconstruction was performed by his part-time student who has her own company, with 14 employees and they use LORETA, so I am sure there was not bias). Fokas' team improvement is dramatic. For example, in one case there were two areas excited in the brain; they reproduced both with very little error whereas LORETA only reconstructed one of the two and NOT the stronger one"

WE CONGRATULATE!
