Prof. Dr.Dr.h.c. mult.Ioannis Liritzis appointed Guest Professor
Dean of Class IV and newly elected Vice President Prof. Dr. Prof. h.c. Prof. h.c. Prof. h.c. Ioannis Liritzis, has been appointed Guest Professor at the South China University of Technology SCUT, Future Technology School, in Guangzhou, China.

South China University of Technology has established the School of Future Technology in the Guangzhou International Campus, focusing on the construction of two professional directions: artificial intelligence and data science and big data technology, to serve the country's innovation-driven development strategy, the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the "Belt and Road" initiative.
At present, the School of Future Technology is mainly focused on three major research directions: intelligent sensing devices and equipment, big data and digital twins, and AI+ fusion technology. It has established four future technology research centers: human perception and smart health, cross-media perception and hybrid intelligence, big data and digital twins, and digital inclusive finance.
The college has nearly 10,000 square meters of teaching and research facilities. It has established joint laboratories or joint talent training bases with Tencent, Huawei, Alibaba, JD.com, Baidu, Microsoft Research Asia, iFlytek, UBTECH, CVTE, HSBC Technology, China Construction Bank, GF Securities and other companies.
SCUT is a World top University of the top 20 in China and amongst the #250 in World University Rankings 2025 which in the past 10 years the various criteria metrics increase steadily. In addition, some subjects like Architecture, Materials Science and Engineering, and Food Science and Engineering—are nationally recognized as being in the top 10% and the Future Technology school amongst the top 1% in the World.
