FESTIVE PLENARY DAYS 2025
The Festive Plenary Days started on 6 March with an interdisciplinary workshop entitled ‘Advancement of Scientific Thought’, organized by our members, Willibald Plessas (TU, Graz), Marko Robnik (CAMTP, Maribor) and Ludvik Toplak (AMEU, Maribor)/Donator of this workshop, in the library hall of the University of Salzburg, where members and non-members presented their research findings to a wide audience in 21 lectures from 7 classes in 4 sessions. On 7 March, a new Presidium was elected at the General Assembly in the Great Assembly Hall of the University of Salzburg, which will take office at the Academy on 24 November 2025: President Klaus Mainzer was re-elected for a second term as President. The following were elected as Vice Presidents: Kristin De Troyer, Ioannis Liritzis, and Verica Trstenjak.
At the subsequent evening reception, members and new members were able to exchange ideas and network in a cosy atmosphere at this evening event:

A highlight of the academic year was once again the ceremonial inauguration of the new members on 8 March. Accompanied by classical and contemporary international music,interpreted by our class III members Ioan Bogdan Stefanescu (flute), Jeremias Schwarzer (recorder) and Livia Teodorescu-Ciocanea (piano), the keynote speech by Academy member Claudi Bockting (University of Amsterdam) focused on the psychological stress of people in high-tech societies in her role as a clinical psychologist and AI researcher (Class II). She also addressed the syndromes of the Covid pandemic. As the European Academy, we will support her initiative for an EU centre for mental health.
EASA welcomed around 250 members from Austria and abroad to Salzburg.
